Decent sized park right near some tony hotels and an upscale shopping street. The place is bustling with traffic and public transportation. Little spot of greenery in the midst of urbanity.

Do not expect that you could park your car in the center of Bordeaux. It took me around 40 minutes to find a parking place. I recommend you to go to the city center by tram. On top of that do not expect you find any written information in English. Place Gambeta is a spot You can find a nice... More

This is not the nicest square in Bordeaux. Far from it. But it has a nice little park to relax in as we did on a Sunny day. Beautiful arch leading down to the historic quarter

The fonctionnaire who organized the expensive signage around the construction zone that is currently Place Gambetta, forgot about The Terror and The Guillotin! They forgot about Jean-Baptiste Lacombe, Claude-Alexandre Ysabeau, Jean-Lambert Tallien and the Comité de Salut Public. Then there was poor Jean-Cipryen Lassabathie, the Girondins and all the others. In Bordeaux the butchery took place at Place Gambetta, then... More

A little park in the middle of the traffic. And it's used, too. Nice to see people with a picnic lunch or just sitting and contemplating the busy scene. Not much to see....just a few stores, a cafe or two. It feels like a hub, though, so take a minute to nitice as you pass through...or better still, sit in... More

Now an "English garden," with serpentine paths and a pink theme in June, this square was part of the Marquis de Tourny's urban renewal plan in 1770, just in time to become the city's guillotine site during the Reign of Terror. Later renamed for politician Leon Gambetta, a native of the South West who Made Good in Paris as a... More

This is a square where a lot of bus has got there final station. The surrounding buildings are almost the same, vey nice. Some of the main streets lead to this always busy square. In the middle there is a little park.

This is the Bordeaux square that is of greatest human interest, rather than historic or monumental. Several boulevards and a pedestrian street lead to it and it is always full of life, with cafes and outdoor eateries, and shops. Shop, eat, and people watching in an outdoor café.

Surrounded by Louis XV style homes, cozy cafes and quaint pastry shops, the atmosphere is perfect for a place to stop and enjoy your time in Bordeaux. We love to sit with a cup of coffee and watch the people go by. This is a great place for that!
