This is the best kept secret in Bordeaux. We went there pre dinner and sampled five beautiful wines staring at 2 Euro......exactly. The most expensive is 8 Euro and they are all wonderful examples of the wines produced in this region of France. The staff are a delight and assist with your selections. This venue is just a perfect example... More

This trendy and popular wine tasting "house" is conveniently located near the Grand Theatre in Bordeaux. My wife and I each sampled 3 white and 4 red wines that the waiter suggested. We thought they were some of the best wines we had while in Bordeaux. The wine sampling and an excellent cheese/bread platter were only 36 Euro. Arrive early!... More

A great stop to sample some local wines. The service is a bit lacking though as our server did not come around to take a second order and in general the service felt as though we were in convincing them by being there. Ambiance is good although it is quite warm inside.

If you like wine, this is the perfect place to start your journey through Bordeaux wines. From 2.5 to 6 euro you can find delicious wines that you can taste with cheese and meat. Simple formula, prefect result.

It is like a wine centre, not cosy like a bar but beautiful stain glass windows inside, lovely bar, perfect place for a glass of good quality wine and a plate of cheese. Not many places where you can do just that!

We came here on multiple recommendations and weren't disappointed. The first time, we came only half an hour before closing and it was quiet but welcoming; the second, at 7.30pm on a Thursday and it was less so! The place looks - not posh exactly, but certainly very nice. However, they're not pretentious and raised no eyebrows at an idiot... More

This is a great way to sample the wines of Bordeaux. The building itself is very interesting from the outside and completely renovated inside with attractive décor and comfortable seating. A good choice of wines at very reasonable prices - from 2 to 8 euros a glass - and I mean a glass, not a small tasting. Very good selection... More

We stopped by for a quick snack and a tasting on Tripadvisor's suggestion and loved it. Selection of local wines is extensive and meat and cheese plates complement the wines perfectly. They serve full or half glasses and suggest the order of tastings to make sure your palate makes the best of your selections. Highly recommended.

We did not expect the prices on the wine list, which were some of the most reasonable in the whole city. The wine list is, obviously, vast. The sommeliers were knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. We lucked out and got the last table available, but, make sure you get there at an "off-hour" because by the time we left there was... More

Maison du Vin, now called Bar a Vin: the opportunity to try several different wines over two days was not lost on us! There are thirty wines by the glass at €2.50 to €8. To accompany these there are several platters of meats and cheese to choose from at around €8. The wines were excellent and the platters good. A... More
