It's a splendid museum devoted to illustration on an international scale and of course, the works bequeathed to it by Ungerer himself. If you admire his work or illustration in general, it's a must.

I love all the collections very much, all those for children, for Strasbourg Cathedral lovers, and paintings of Kamasutra. I know Tomi Ungerer has more interesting paintings to show, so it is pity that the museum is not bigger.

I didn't know much about Tomi Ungerer when we went, but came out very impressed by his art. I don't believe I'm saying this, but it needs a shop where you can purchase his books. It is a beautiful collection in a excellent setting. There...More

Although this is a museum of a famous children's book illustrator I wouldn't recommend you take children on the top or basement floor, which only leaves you with the main floor. It is a small museum and much of the art is just quick sketches...More

I love Ungerer's children's books and there is almost nothing here of those. There was a special display of his adult erotic work - when that isn't on, I have no idea how they possibly justify the cost.

Although Tomi Ungerer made lots of illustrations for children's books which are terrific, he did plenty of erotic drawings as well. In fact, the temporary exhibit was very erotic so I just recommend checking what's being shown before you bring your kids. Or you can...More

Being a cold and wet day in Strasbourg I decided to explore some museums and art galleries. There was plenty of parking close by which made for easy access. You buy your entrance ticket in a cute little building that is separate from the museum,...More
