A good historic telling of the history of Strasbourg. Although the last section on the EU seems tacked on - it could be improved to tell more about the aims of the EU and its institutions and give a brief history of how it developed over the years. Combine this museum with a visit to the Archaeological Museum and the... More

Strasbourg is unique as having been at various times, French, German, French, German... you see such a variety of cultural influences. It is all explained here. Certainly worth an afternoon! Don't miss the upstairs exhibit, I didn't realize it was there until the security pointed it out.

The exhibition was beautifully done with many opportunities to try things out and to get extra information. Also, the audio guide was interactive and very informative.

It can sometimes be hard to tell where exactly you're supposed to be looking when the audioguide starts, but since I got in for free with my Carte Culture, it's really nothing to complain about. The exhibits are incredibly interesting and detail the city's history from start to finish. It stands out from other museums in two ways: 1) In... More

We used the audio guide and spent 2 hours here ( could have spent twice as long to see it properly). Got a good overview of the city and its culture and history. The audio guides are quite clever, being activated automatically by where you stand. Some locations do not work, and you have to be careful not to walk... More

The history of Strasbourg was laid-out clearly in this museum; it is an audio-visual experience - one is equipped with a headphones and an audioguide that automatically senses where one is in the museum and plays the appropriate description. There is an option to press a button (on the audioguide) to hear more about particular exhibits. This method brings the... More

Very interesting and in particular for 2016 the exhibition of paper toy soldiers. The Strasbourg story is very interesting especially because Alsace and Lorraine passed between France and Germany during the time.

This can be done very easily in one hour, but I suggest taking your time and listen to as many audio "stations" as possible. Strasbourg has a wonderful history that includes many oh the inventions and customs that are used world wide today. Plus to fully understand how this town has become a mixture of French and German culture, a... More

This is a good museum to learn about the very interesting history of Strasbourg. There are plenty of things to look at and read, and one could easily spend a couple of hours there. Though I enjoyed the automatic audio guide, I was sometimes a little confused by the layout of the museum and wasn't sure which direction I should... More

I have a good memory of this museum with a self-guided tour and all. Strasbourg' history is complex and this museum has a good overview.
