Absolutely brilliant place. Real shame about the blue haired bar maid putting down patrons and trying to act superior when all the rest of the crew are 100% down to earth and trying to facilitate a good time. Fully recommend checking out scholar for a...More

A great bar in an arch beneath the railway. A outside covering of quality street art just adds to the ambiance. At times it's quiet for some pleasant contemplation. At other times lovely and lively when they have regular events.

stumbled across this pub whilst looking for a drink before attending a show at the palace theatre. Hidden away under the railway bridge arches, it certainly has character. Drinks are very reasonably priced, would highly recommend a visit.

We popped in for a quick drink and ended up “tipsy” !!! Great music, the DJ was hilarious to watch and played SKA all night, this was a Sunday so I’m not sure how many nights he does. “Relaxed” bar staff to say the least!...More

Visited at the end of the northern vegan festival having walked past this place on many an occasion. How pleasantly surprised to find a great bar, full of ambience, great selection of beer and, although we didn’t eat, the food looked great. Will definitely return.

Had a fabulous vegan burger here- really great value and a good selection of vegan food. A bit tricky to find, but well worth a visit.

Walked past and it looked really nice outside under the arch so we popped in for a pint. Inside is awful, the music was horrendous, just some young lad talking down a mic swearing every other word. However sitting outside with the doors closed was...More

This was the nearest place to me yesterday, found it using Happy Cow! Great central location. Got a very reasonably priced tasty chilli and bolognese for £10 to take away and also some vegan jelly tot cupcakes, 3 for £5. All were tasty and I’d...More

The music is very good but it is turned up too loud. I know the bars on a Fri/Sat night turn things up but it is still.. too LOUD, it doesn't need to be, it's not a big space.
