at the very centre of the city of Manchester, Albert Square and The Manchester Town Hall is a photo opportunity not to be missed at any time of the year - even more so at Christmas time when the Seasonal Market and Decorations are a sight to behold. surrounded by superb bars and restaurants - certainly worth your time

Visited on New Year, was told New year celebrations started at 10 so we went down at 10 and other than some music there wasn't much going on till 11.30. The event was very well organised considering the crowds that turned up. The square itself was really nice, very picturesque in the centre near all the attractions and shops

Manchester's best square. In the summer it's great sitting on the benches overlooking the town hall. It's very picturesque!

On a heavy rain evening, we thought of listening to some [bad] music and assisting at the turning on of the Christmas lights. Bad idea! The showers were too intense and even waiting there in the crowd for over an hour was a nightmare.

Nice enough Christmas Market. Pretty decorations, festive feel and high prices, as usual. The giant Santa in lights was cool.

Great atmosphere and a very festive feel. The snacks were delicious so I'm glad I went on an empty stomach. Had some Indian snacks from the Indian hut which were great then had some Dutch mini pancakes with Nutella which were delicious. I didn't have room for the Italian cannolis or the strudel and custard so I'm going back for... More

The christmas markets here were incredible. So many different stalls, live music, food and drink - highly recommended.

Average and over priced Christmas Market. We celebrate Yuletide by visiting varied markets yearly. It is all subjective and a matter of opinion, but we personally find Manchester average. Similar to Birmingham, stalls tend to be the same with little variety even though there are plenty of them, and each year they are in the same place. Marketeers have cottoned... More
