Forget Piccadilly ..... this hidden treasure of a small city shady park has a thought provoking reflective calm. I call it the Alan Turing Memorial Garden as you will find a really beautiful life-size Alan sitting on his bench holding his apple. Beautifully sad sculpture...More

Okay so its not exactly central park but this small garden which is located almost exactly half way between Oxford Rd and Piccadilly train stations has a great bench with a memorial to Alan Turing the Mathematician and pioneer of computer science.

Being at the end of Canal Street I can only imagine what goes down here at night! Home to a bee and an Alan Turing statue. Cool to walk by if your near. Still laughing at the name.....

These gardens are in the heart of Manchester and have a special link to the Gay Village. You will see the Beacon of hope surrounded by historical fact plaques, a statue of Alan Turing, a Manchester Bee figure, and plenty of benches to sit on...More

Patchy grass. Bare trees. Litter. Lots of seating . Probably good in summer. Feels sad in winter. Not on my list to return .

The gardens are a hidden gem, next to the university. I have even missed them the first time. But they are very beautiful. A place to relax and to enjoy

Right in the middle of the city, this is a lovely little park including a statute to the great Alan Turing. Enjoy a little green diversion and the peace.

Here is the national HIV memorial along with a statue of the great Allan Turin. So much history and respect to be shown in one small Park. Well with a visit, if your in Manchester.

Every time I'm in Manchester, I enjoy Sackville Gardens, a rather small park right off Whitworth Street. It's nicely kept and offers a respite from all the activity in the area. A real piece of Manchester!

Nice little park just off Canal Street which has the statue of the great Alan Turing. The man who saved Britain from the war but was still punished for his sexuality. Quite ironic that it is in this park as he would not believe how...More
