See the network of underground canal routes that helped form the industrial Black Country and marvel at the fantastic Limestone Caverns. Enjoy a canalside walk or relaxing boat trip, and admire the local history. See if you can spot any of the limestone fossils remaining from when the area was below sea, and explore the Dudley Tunnel - don't be startled by the bats!

Whilst at the Black Country Museum it's well worth a visit to the neighbouring Dudley canal trust. For less than £7 an adult you can look around the museum, learn the history of the canal and how it was built to assist with mining in the area and take a narrow boat trip along the tunnels and caverns. The guides... More

We were expecting a "normal" canal trip as we hadn't done any research before we arrived but it turned out to be an underground tour of a mine, with a very interesting and informative talk, with a video show included. Part of the tunnel excavation and mine is quite dramatic and it gives the visitor a real sense of what... More

We went for the half price 45 minute boat trip held in January, I hadnt been in years and it was my partners first visit. It was a cold but dry day, we found the site well maintained and well run, I had not been to the new centre since it had opened, good free parking , inside was spacious,... More

Great attraction next to Black Country Living Museum. Accessible as a stand alone attraction or accessible from BCLM but are separate admission fees. Good value for money boat trip along the canal through old tunnels and mines with excellent facilities and restaurant / coffee shop. A must visit if your in the area.

This a remarkable and unique experience. We took the 45 minute trip week before last. While it doesn't on the face of it sound at all that incredible (go on a boat ... in a tunnel!), it IS, never the less, quite an experience. The canal boat took us into tunnel s which opened into several caverns formed by old... More

We visited the canal trust whilst at BCLM. Whilst it was an additional fee to pay, the cost was certainly worthwhile. You go on a 45 minute canal boat trip through the Dudley canal tunnels. The pilot/guide is full of useful information and facts - both about the geology of the land and also the industrial history. Very informative and... More

Me and my partner decided to take the trip whilst at BCLM. We both enjoyed it and thought it was fairly priced. The tour guide was chatty and funny. We would recommend it.

We had spent the day at the Black Country Museum and stumbled across this at the end of the day, so decided to take one of the tours. It was fascinating insight into the canals, the tunnels and the life that went on underground in this part of the world. The guide was excellent and really bought to life what... More
