Covering 26 acres of former industrial land, Black Country Living Museum is uniquely placed to tell the story of the creation of the world’s first industrial landscape. Over fifty authentic shops, houses and workshops have been carefully reconstructed to preserve the character of the region when its manufacturers bought worldwide fame to Black Country Towns. Take a trip on the tram to explore the canal-side village, where you can meet and chat to the costumed characters. Explore the underground mine and experience the authentic sights, sounds, smells and tastes from the past.

What a great day out. Evokes memories of bygone days if you are over 60, if not of that age, you will be amazed at what your parents and grand parents had to endure. Yep, no gas or electricity, nowhere to charge your iPad, smart phone etc (means you have to watch television in the dark). You do really need... More

In Birmingham for the weekend, so went. Very interesting, good value, the pub, Bottle and Glass serves good real ales at good prices Good parking facilities, but as went by train to Tipton the complete lack of signage from the station to the museum is poor and means you need to ask locals the way. So that aspect needs to... More

We've visited here many times including the Halloween night which was great. The staff are very interactive and they seem to enjoy telling you about the past which is fascinating.

Visited the BCLM with my partner despite it being a grey day, however we still had an amazing day! The grey weather with spits of rain added to the experience in my opinion. It's a really interesting insight into the past, definitely better than learning history from books! We only had 4 hours at the museum and managed to go... More

On a canal boat tour, we decided to make a 1-day stop at the Black Country Living museum in Tipton. This was a fantastic idea: we spent a great day back in the 19th -early 20th century! We had a nice and very interesting discussion with the pharmacist, discovering the different types of bottles sold, my sons could also help... More

We go here quite regularly since BCLM introduced a pass that you can use all year round. Has a great range of activities going on throughout the day. Well worth a trip

Heard a lot of good things about this place, so decided to have a look at it and wasn't disappointed. All the volunteers and staff were happy, friendly people. So much to see and do, even though it was very busy, it still didn't seem overcrowded. It was like stepping back in time and the amount of detail in everything... More

There are garages, shops and a mine to explore. For the adventurous, there is a 45min trip on the canal through the tunnels and caverns under Dudley(added cost) There are a number... More
