We took a detour heading south to see this route and were well pleased that we did. It's a narrow and winding road and not for those in a hurry, especially at weekend when bike and motorcyles are out, but you wouldn't be here if...More

You have to pay for parking, but its a nominal amount to drink in the lovely area is worthwhile. Local events throughtout the area and small quaint villages add to the uniqueness, plenty of pubs make a day very pleasant after a walk.

The heather is in full bloom, a soft sun sets of the hills, the grass is greener and the rivulets gurgle away. Grouse and pheasant in large quantities along the wayside. Lovely and exceptional!

Follow the signs from junction 33/34 for Lancaster leisure park and instead of turning into the park head up the hill under the motorway bridge and keep on that road, within ten minutes you are in gods country!
