We had added this building as a place to visit, but found it was not open to the public. Another historical build we are denied the right to visit. If there are problems with cuts surely a admission fee would help to keep it open....More

This elegant building is next to The Castle. Unfortunately, I was told it has been a victim of local authority belt-tightening and not been open for two years. There is the possibility that it may be opened next year.

Could only view from the outside, which was a shame - just had to use our imaginination to envisage the inside !

Closed to individual visitors. No prior closure notice given. I went here but was thwarted. Another example of a failing Lancaster Council. Why advertise this place if it is not open to individual visitors?

Spectacular Georgian House where judges working in Lancaster used to stay. Great architecture and steeped in history.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon of 1 July 2017, but there was a sign on the door of the museum stating that it is closed to all but pre-arranged school parties. A pity.
