Visited for lunch with 2 children (11 & 12) as it's a lovely setting and is interesting to look around. Was ignored at the counter when wanting to place my order and server took an order from somebody behind me, despite seeing us at the counter. No apology for ignoring me! Placed order and took seats. After nearly 45 mins... More

Booked week before only to get a call to an hour before to inform that the electrics in the kitchen not working. I insisted to keep my booking as we had also booked a hotel for a special occasion. Lady confirmed that the Caribbean meal was cooked in or on the oven. We were the only diners. Which was great... More

This place is so unusual and claver. Feels like being on Safari. The main restaurant venue is like a large African communal building which is so atmospheric and realistic. The furniture and smells transport you to a different continent. Outside is wonderful with little paths through huts and almost tropical vegetation. so clever and great for kids.

It's described as a garden centre, but the African Metal Art is just amazing - giant crocodiles, gorillas, snakes, warthogs etc. They could charge an admission price just to go in. Rather more expensive than buying in Africa, but there are some transport costs to consider. Well worth a visit.

staff are friendly. this is one of my favourite places. there are plants and metal animals to buy and look at, the food is good and a reasonable choice, the goat curry is very good though i was a bit disappointed to have topay extra for a dumpling. in the warmer weather you can sit out side and you would... We had the Caribbean platter which was hot and delicious, curried goat, jerk chicken, fish rice and peas, dumpling, roast pots, veg...just brilliant. But the place is just stunning, wooden shak style, but warm loved it!

Went here during Christmas. The food was very average, more Caribbean and really Jamaican cuisine. However the atmosphere was good lots of african carvings and life size animal carvings. The live music was very entertaining with dancefloor to have a bit of fun. Overall a good night out

Akamba is a quite extraordinary garden centre, the likes of which you may not have ever experienced before. You know it`s different as you park your car and find yourself surrounded by the incredible metal, animal sculptures which are situated all over the garden centre. You can wander around and take in the exotic plants on sale, or sit and... More

Hidden gem, kids love it and adults too can escape at this inventive African garden centre. Great nights out too at their evening live music events .
