I’m here a lot! This place is fabulous. I always make time between working to go and have a little look round at the displays and in the gallery at the art displays. Fantastic informative staff and a great way to showcase the history of...More

On several floors accessed by a wonderful old lift this museum, housed in the picturesque old Benskins Brewery Building is a veritable treasure trove of pictures and antiques giving a fascinating insight into the history of Watford. The only thing missing is the nostalgic smell...More

Whenever I visit a town I always go to their museum if available. At Watford the museum was distinctly individual with football and brewery memorabilia, amongst other more general historic collections. I was lucky enough to visit whilst an artist was in residence, one Sheelagh...More

I have lived in this area for years and decided to visit the Museum to see what it had on offer. Entry is free but its small. There was an extra exhibition on about Graham Taylor but not a football fan. The history of the...More

Watford Museum is worth a visit and although interesting it is limited. There are displays on historical industries such as brewing, paper making and printing and these are worth spending time on as they are quite instructive. There is also a section on early 20th...More

I really enjoyed going here they had some real working machinery, facinating little fixtures and artifax that really are amusing to see. You reall must go along to this place if you are passing Watford. You wil find it really worth while.

Have lived in Watford all my life but only recently visited this Museum. There is no warm welcome when you arrive, in fact I felt like we were intruding by going in. There are lots of printing machines, football and brewing memorabilia and items from...More

Walked past this little museum many times on my way to the town centre to shop, but never stopped before. Glad I did, because it has some fascinating reminders of Watford's heritage and past - especially to do with the old Benskins Brewery which had...More

Watford, so close to the outer suburbs of London, must have a bigger story to offer. The town was not just a brewery, or a football club, there is a great social history and art collection. This booming town owes much more to the community...More

I don't mind a local museum, but whilst this did have a range of displays and themes, it lacked that one killer hook, the unusual thing that sticks in the mind afterwards. And displays looked a little dated. For non-residents, limited appeal.
