This attraction is ok at best- the staff are very enthusiastic but the place itself is a bit dull. Not enough celebration of Samuel Crompton and it is a bit empty.

Bolton isnt noted for it's tourist attractions and with very limited opening times this gem is hard to get to but it's well worth a visit giving you a unique insight into the times when Bolton was a centre of commerce and industry. A quirky...More

A local gem with lots to see. This place deserves a lot more custom. It is a lot more interesting than some properties held by the large national organisations.

Very nice building however in the middle of a council estate. The surrounding area is a bit of a dump and the council can do a lot to improve the Museum itself. The building doesn't have a lot of activity and is not promoted as...More

It is really thanks to Lord Leverhulme that we are able to visit this very old hall which was built in the 16th Century as he bought it in 1899 and spent a lot of money renovating it and gave it to Bolton Council. Part...More

When we arrived, we were greeted by a cachophany of children's voices, the noise followed us around the building. We didn't see any staff and so assumed that they were tied up with the school group. The building is incredible, so many odd rooms and...More
