You don't have to be a train enthusiast to enjoy this museum, the social history is interesting, the exhibits are well displayed, and there are a number of interactive items. The café is also very good,

A modern museum built on an historic site. Very high standard of exhibits. This is a railway museum that all the family will find interesting, not just railway enthusiasts. I had a good lunch there too.

Great family day here. We really enjoyed talking to Ted who used to be a Fireman on steam engines until the 1960s. Well worth a visit and Platform One cafe does a nice lunch with very friendly and efficient staff.

A very big display with lots of things for the younger children to do. We spent a couple of hours there with a toddler and he was content the whole time

Very well laid out displays. Brought back memories, when trains & engines had character and travel was a experience to be looked forward to! unlike today's shambles.
