Falling into disrepair in the 20th century, the house was saved by Swindon Council and restored. Interesting collection of portraits and paintings and we had an excellent guided tour.

Large park with lovely walking areas, picnic areas and bbq area. Has open air theater and cinema in the summer. Also has a tea room/nursery and cafe along with childrens play area. Pity about the parking costs which make it prohibitive for repeated evening walks.

Beautiful surroundings and plenty to do and see. Lovely cafe with a good choice of delicious food. Great play area for under 12s and plenty of open space to run/walk around in! And it's free, with a small charge for parking.

We visited on a sunny Saturday. Lots of space for all visitors. They had the kids area but if you don't like a lot of noise then there is plenty of other space.

The house is a very interesting place to visit and well worth it. There are some great portraits and some very interesting architectural things to see. The rooms are large and the history of the family is great.

Love running all the way to Lydiard Park and, considering is my “half way”, stop for a quick snack and a delicious latte they have in the cafeteria! Worth the visit during the WHOLE year with your other half, friends, family, dogs.. :)

What a treasure of Wiltshire! So nice to have this on our doorstep. I always try and book a few outdoor theatre and cinema events in the summer here as well. We tried to go here for NYE but they cancelled.

Yes, it is wheelchair friendly.. I am not sure about the actual house itself but you can get around the park in a chair with relative ease.
