Stayed at The Edward Hotel and just up the road near where the buses was this delightful small park, with a couple of artefacts housed in its grounds. Opposite is Hillfield House, which is now a private home, so not accessible. There was also a chapel in the grounds, not open.

I frequently walk through or past the gardens here, and there is something beautiful going on during every season of the year as different flowers come in and out of bloom, and in autumn as a whole variety of different trees turn to shades of red and gold. There's always a sense of peace here and the gardens are tidy... More

This is very close to where I live. We regularly go here, to be fair I am reluctant to review it, in case it attracts more visitors, as it is a lovely quiet place for most of the time, a bit of calm from the hustle bustle of the city. Whether it is having a picnic in the shady are... More

Once the grounds of a grand house, these pleasant gardens lie alongside the old Ermin Street Roman Road into the City. Contains chancel of a 12th century leper chapel, Scrivens Conduit and the King's Board. Popular for workers eating their lunchtime sandwiches in summer.

Not had the opportunity to visit the Gardens for many years and could not resist the opportunity to wander around this secluded Gloucester gem when passing it by chance. Delighted to know there is such strong feeling to preserve its history and thanks to the Friends of HG in maintaining the gardens. The City of Gloucester councils have an abysmal... More

A lovely peaceful spot close to the city. No entry fee so free for all to enjoy!Gardeners have worked hard to plant interesting things and easy paths to follow or for children to roll down gentle hills and fun to play safe game of hide and seek.

I love visiting these gardens; they have glorious surroundings to visit and there is plenty of fun for the children to make themselves there just climbing and explorng around. It has plenty of seating areas and lovely plants and flowers to see. It really is a hidden gem of the city with historic monuments to boot.
