Started from pateley bridge on the niddedale walk bringing us to brimham rocks a national trust site, the views and phenomena of the rocks was amazing, the visitors centre was closed but toilets were available and we had brought our own lunch.

You spend time just wandering around the rocks, or for those with a little more energy you climb all over the rocks. Plus if you walk beyond the small museum there a bit more open moorland and rocks. Some rocks have easy access to the top so you can get fantastic views of the valley.

As soon as our kids got out of the car they ran for the rocks letting out squeals of delight. The rock formations are quite stunning, we loved climbing them and the views at the top are lovely. Great fun.

A great landmark that is always a joy to visit. I've visited here ever since been a young lad and love to go back each time. Perfect for a nice stroll and picnic with your family and friends. If you've got a camera, be sure to take it along with you as Brimham Rocks has some breathtaking views

Had a great day out at Brimham Rocks. The place itself is fab to go exploring very interesting. However parking £5 is way too expensive and there is a lack of toilets at the starting point which isn't good for people with weak bladders!

This is a great place to visit as a family with kids who love to climb or just as walkers looking for some where a bit different. It is national trust which means that members park for free but for the rest of us it is £6 for 4 hours, £8 for the day, including disabled badge holders. There is... More

We had a great three hours climbing over all the rocks. There are loads of different sized rocks so something for everyone, from the social rambler to the serious rock climber. The gritstone feature are really unusual. I assume in the summer at weekends the car park will get busy so you might want to get there early. We took... More

Hours of exploring, climbing, hiding. In rocks. On rocks. Under rocks. Through rocks. Natural landscape of rock formations in a forest. Finished off with a nice cup of tea from the tea cabin. Kids get ice creams.

For climbing or bouldering this is a great place. Also suitable just for walkers and a small cafe for drinks and snacks
