We enjoyed our short visit here. We took a walk past the castle and through the harbour to the rugged coast line looking out towards the lighthouse. Well worth a visit.

Accessd via a winding stone walled enclosed narrow road you come across a little fishing village with focal point castle ruins . Small brightly coloured boats are moored to the quay or if the tides is out are resting in the mud. You have good...More

Slade Castle is a very beautiful location and a nice place to visit. There may not be a lot more to do here apart from take photos of the castle but it is worth the trip.

It won't take long to visit this small castle. It isn't possible to get inside. But it and the adjacent small harbour are very photogenic and it is literally a few hundred metres detour from the road into Hook Head lighthouse.

Pretty little harbour/castle but there is limited things to do. You can't go in the small castle and there is limited info on display.

You can't access the castle very much but the surrounding area is rich with history. Check out the fisherman's caves nearby!

The castle has an interesting history albeit it can only be viewed from the outside. It overlooks a very attractive small harbour and village and makes a good spot for a wander or picnic whilst on a journey down the hook

Walked here from Hook Head lighthouse along the coast & back along the road-a very pleasant stroll. Small fishing settlement with semi-derelict fifteenth century castle. An enjoyable part of the Hook Head experience with great views east along the south Wexford coast. Just don't expect...More

The castle is just a ruin that is not open to the public, but it is still a nice view. The harbour is a working one. There is a walk from Slade to the Hook lighthouse that will take you along the Coastline. This has...More
