A fabulously long beach with very fine, soft sand. You can take a long walk across Duncannon Beach and back to walk off all the delicious food and Guinness available in the area!

We visited in mid - September but it was still good weather. This is not a very big beach but it is so sheltered and there is good quality sand. It is ideal for a stroll and there was no significant wind when we were visiting, We kept going back there for a stroll after meals etc.. even though it... More

Lifeguard patrolled beach, which you can park on. Fantastic for young families as the sea is shallow and waves small - near to the shops in town if you need refreshments too.

We visited recently. A great beach, probably a km from one end to the other, so not too difficult. You can sit down and picnic or make sand castles but there are warnings that the beach isn't suitable for bathing. At the Fort side is probably best, you can get your car into the beach which is unusual to see... More

Duncannon beach is a lovely place to come especially if the sun comes out the water is safe compared to other beaches and the beach is clean. You can drive onto the beach which is quite handy if travelling with the kids, just be careful of the odd car traveling too fast

The beach is very nice and clean. Parking can be a bit tricky. The fort beside the beach is well worth a visit. Lots of clean sand with no rocks for kids to play on. There appear some pools with low tide in which they can fish with a net for crabs, shrimp, tiny dogfish and tiny flatfish. There is... More

Myself and himself thoroughly enjoyed a lovely long walk along this beach. It was early evening when we visited so not too many people were about, which was fantastic for us. It was a murky, misty day but it didn't dampen our enjoyment too much. We would happily visit if we were in the area again. We found parking was... More

The water here is not clean, so you shouldn't paddle in any puddles, there are warnings posted around, but few tourists read the signs until it is too late. That said, it is a lovely site and is the home to a fantastic sand sculpture competition each year. There are also lovely views and some nice places to grab a... More

Visited the beach with three young kids. Fantastic views and very safe for kids -the water was only a couple of feet deep for about 300m from the shore. On busy days it can get a bit crowded, with some cars blocking the route out, which is a particular problem at high tide. Thoroughly recommended. Great free playground too.
