Drove up here with husband & mother-in-law to visit the well advertised Christmas Market. Being in a castle we had high hopes for a market with atmosphere. How disappointed we were! There was 20 stalls, hotdogs, santa was depressed in a small garden shed. We...More

Thanks for your feedback on the Christmas market. Tullynally is privately owned with very high running costs. Whist we provide the courtyard venue for free to local craft makers, who contribute to a local charity, we do not promote this as an event for enjoyment...More

We visited this castle on the Bank Holiday weekend, and were aware that it was closed. However that didn’t stop us enjoying a lovely walk up the long driveway, which was smothered in a blanket of autumn leaves – fabulous to look at in the...More

For history lovers, wooldland walkers and garden fanciers this is a great place to visit. Part of the former horse stables are being used as a coffee place without disturbing the original feel or atmosphere of the location.

I was looking for something to do in the area and a few locals had mentioned Tullynally Castle and although I'd never heard of it decided to try it out. I was very lucky. I arrived shortly after opening on a Friday off season so...More

We recently visited the tea rooms which are very poor. Cold and dirty, in great need of some TLC. Cold coffee and average food. No atmosphere. Such a shame as the gardens are well worth a visit.

I had been here the year before, but this time I stopped and had tea and a scone in the courtyard behind the castle. The owners of the castle rent the lodging in the gate structure behind the castle to 3-4 different tenants, and it...More

I love Tullynally! Although it is called Castle and Gardens however, it is more about trees than plants. You can easily spend a number of hours here walking around doing the tree trail and also looking at the little houses or gazebos dotted around the...More

You can get to Castlepollard by bus. That is the closest town that I know of to Tullynally. From there, you could take a taxi or it would be about a 30 minute walk from the center of town out to the grounds.
