Please don't drive past, think this is just another battle site. It isn't! Do go to the actual exhibition of the battle itself: the models, illustrations, images and information boards are truly excellent, but not over-facing. There is a very strong focus on tactics -...More

My husband and I both really enjoyed our visit. I loved it because there was just enough information so you came out with knowledge but not overload. We took our time, read the information, watched the audio visual and looked at the canons in the...More

Really worth a visit for all ages. A short but well displayed information and battle scene, in the estate house, and of great historical importance. The grounds and gardens are a fabulous place to walk. Inside the walled garden there are sculptures and more information...More

We visited a great site, totally surprised by the information and relics present. The gardens were great, reminded me of gardens in Europe. A very enjoyable drive to this destination.

No view of the "house" but of a few rooms that serve as a museum display. The story of the battle of the Boyne is concise and easy to understand. The visual graphics of the battle demonstrate King James' fatal mistake. Great for kids. Short...More

Our BnB host in Carlingford suggested we visit. The place wasn't well signposted on the scenic route, except for signs on the motorway which we saw when we travelled to Dublin airport the next day. There was nothing to indicate that a battle had taken...More

The Battle of the Boyne in 1690 determined the fate of England, Ireland, the French, and several other European countries. The cast of players were all related and included kings and their offspring, and their love of power. Our guide kept her stories exciting and...More
