Errew Abbey is off-the-beaten-track, but well worth an afternoon trip. You have to pass through a local farmers field, and walk amongst sheep to get to the abbey. The abbey is a 12th century abbey with an older church foundation nearby. It is on a peninsula jutting out into Lough Conn, and has a great view of Nephin Mountain.
