Lovely view of King John's Castle and the City

Busy bridge, but beautiful architecture across the whole bridge. Lit up well at night too. There is a great view of King John's Castle from the bridge too, especially at night!

It's a stately old bridge. I traversed several times to get from my hotel to King John's Castle, churches and more. Be sure to look down. The black cold water, swans and mallards are interesting to watch.

We visited Ireland in September, 2016 and stayed in Limerick for 5 nights. Our hotel, the Limerick Strand faced this bridge and we used it many times to go into Limerick proper. Its a very nice bridge with lamps on the bride in blues and whites. At night, the lamplight is very effective in creating a calming mood.

Walking over the bridge takes you past the monument to Ireland's 1916 Revolution and historic rowing house.

Bridge to the city centre, splits Limerick into it's old and modern areas. The Shannan rowing club is situated on the middle of the bridge and there is a nice walk along the river connecting the three bridges of the city. Worth checking out on a sunny day.

Character bridge with not too much traffic. Decided to do the 3 Bridges Walk - very enjoyable with lots to see and enjoy especially the natural beauty of the Shannon and hills around. Many beautiful swans etc.

If you stay in Limerick you should walk over the Sarsfield Bridge; it spans the Shannon River at the main downtown area and has some interesting historical monuments worth seeing.

The Sarsfield Bridge is a really unique bridge across the Shannon in Limerick City. It has quite a few statues depicting Irish Freedom Heroes. Situated within walking distance of the Hunt Museum, this bridge is the place to be for the May Riverfest Fireworks Festival. The views up and down the Shannon are stunning. The bridge links the northern part... More
