While I am an adult myself, I thoroughly enjoyed the headsets which played audio stories, the informative puzzles to build, and the cannons you could practice shooting... More

King johns castle is very well maintained and is not only a great castle but also provides a good history lesson that is interactive. You start the tour within the visitor center and really allows you to get a good overall history of the castle and time periods it was a part of (and for how complicated that history is-... More

Some great history here, and some fun stuff for the kids. We got some really good pictures from the towers. It is touristy but not horribly so, atleast on sunday it wasnt. Parking is free on sunday also.

We visited the Castle in Limerick. It was a great historical property. It was worth the trip to see how people lived. Great stop on our Ireland tour!

We had a cold rainy day to visit which was a great way to spend a couple of hours with kids. The castle is mostly in ruins but the renovations have made it a high tech attraction. They have indoor hands on computerized and movies to explain the history of the castle. The outside is ruins but they have archery... More

The presentation leading into the castle provided an an in-depth and interesting overview of the castle and the times in which it has existed. Once inside the castle, wandering the grounds provided many opportunities to enjoy all of the features. All of it can be enjoyed in about three hours time without feeling rushed. The only small quibble is that... More

One of the few castles we visited in Ireland that does not come across as a tourist money trap. The whole thing was well laid out and a great audio visual display area provided a wealth of information. The buildings are well preserved and most are accessible and well worth a look. Be warned. The spiral stone staircases in the... More
