Adare is a small and pretty village and the historical Adare Castle is one of the few sights to see. It is an old Norman castle and tours are available via shuttle bus from the Heritage Center in Adare.

What an interesting 12th-century Norman castle it is, brought to life with an intelligent, witty, local historian, Sandra. Four of us enjoyed the tour immensely! Steeped in history and archaeology, stories came to light with Sanrda's keen eye for detail. We loved every bit it...More

The castle is only open via guided tours, so you can't just wander around. Having said that, I certainly recommend the tour. Very informative, taking just the right amount of time. Well worth the small cost.

This a great tour if you're in Adare during the right time of the year. The groups are small and intimate and the scenery and history are outstanding. Our tour guide was awesome, and she made the tour outstanding.
