We visited here on saturday. I had not been before. It was nice to walk around and take photos. It was very quiet when we were here, early morning.

Located across the road from the Aghadoe heights hotel, this 7th century monastery is set in a stunning location. Well worth a visit

This is one of the oldest structures we have visited from the 6-7th century. Cemetery is still used. It is across the Aghadoe Hotel and Spa, also at a beautiful view point.

Whilst not an essential component of a trip to Kerry for someone interested in ancient fortifications (such as I) the Round Tower is rather an interesting sight, positioned as it is with a fabulous view over Lough Lein. Further ruins abound in the churchyard and...More

This was one of the most interesting cemeteries we have ever visited. The ruins have some real history but the highlight, at the adjacent cemetery, was the amazing memorials to families of three travelers who were all killed in an automobile accident about 20 years...More

The round tower at the Aghadoe cemetery is all that remains of the church. The cemetery still serves the town of Killarney. It commands the most spectacular view of all of Killarney's attractions and is fittingly known as " Heaven on a Hillside" from a...More
