Took a jaunting car ride to Ross Castle. Very nice ride through the park to the Castle. If you like castles and are visiting Killarney check it out.

I was recently in Killarney and visited Ross Castle. It worth going to have a look at. They also have a room with all kinds of history and restoration of the building.

I would recommend tour inside the castle because it looked as real. I am not sure that the furniture is medieval, but looks like it. Unfortunately making pictures is prohibited - that is why 4 instead of 5.

I did not pay to tour Ross Castle because my goal was to head out to Inishfallen Island. The boat to land on that Island is just around the other side of the castle. It is a great start for long hikes to Muckross Abbey...More

Hello, My family is going to visit Ireland in June. Ross Castle is on our list. Should I visit it with a tour that goes to many places the same day, or should I visit the castle by itself so I can spend more time there? Thanks for your help! Beau Roberts

I would say it's worth a couple of hours including the 40-minute tour. Make sure you know the tour schedule, because you can't get into the castle except on the guided tour, which is very infomative.
