We took the SeaQuest cruise with Seannie and David. It's an open boat, and you wear waterproof gear. The day we went, it began clear, but with a threat of rain. The chop was manageable, and the docking station at SM (a concrete ladder on the island) is sheltered. Almost all the boats are open, so be prepared to get... More

We had an amazing trip to the island of Skelligs Michael with Seanie Murphy It was amazing to see so many puffins and wildlife and hear the chicks calling out under the rocks and soil. We were lucky enough to see dolphins on our trip to the island. One of the guides at the top gave a very informative talk on... More

The history of this Island is mesmerizing, the views are indescribable, and the experience itself will be a story you will never stop telling. It's a world heritage site and to top it off if you are a Star Wars fan this island is where they found Luke at the very end of the Rogue One Movie. You will never... More

The landing tours were overbooked for months, so we took the tour around the two islands and it was great. But for people, who easily get sick, its not a good idea.

The mystery of why and how monks chose this location of all places, as difficult to reach and as inhospitable as it is, to serve God, is perhaps something we will never have an answer for. If you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to land of it, please do. If not, the second best option is to take... More

A very interesting, though small exhibit of the Irish Monks who built a private corner on an Island off the coast of Ireland. Tons of rocks for a long staircase, the exhibit has a short film and small display telling the story. A good cafe too - boat tours available to go out to the island.....did not get there.

The boat ride to Skellig Michael was quite rough towards the end! We apparently set sail on a "calm day" but it was still quite choppy. Along the way we got to see dolphins swimming beside us, which was a magical sight. Be prepared for the cold and wind, the boat is only half covered- so wrap up! The only... More

600 steps up the rocky cliff. Rock shelters over 1000 years old abandoned 800 years ago after being pillaged too many times by Vikings. You must plan and reserve way ahead, but weather will always be a factor. The island is 7 miles out in the bay with no protection from the Atlantic Ocean. The monks that lived here for... More

We didn't get to see much due to weather. We did get to see a video of it and how it came about. Very interesting. It was a cute little area with tons of shops.

Unfortunately we weren't able to get on a boat that actually docked and let you out, but we were able to cruise around the island. It is massive!! Even close to the island the people going to the top looked so tiny! Worth the bumpy boat ride out for sure! It is a really interesting island with quite a lot... More
