February 2017. Whilst visiting family near Ballyheigue Co Kerry. My partner and I took a stroll onto the strand at Ballyheigue. Oh is very lovely strand.... One side sandy and the other Rocky - best of both worlds. We wandered along hand in hand and took our time. The tide was going out and it was a wonderful spring day.... More

This has to be one of the best beaches in the world taking about an hour or more to walk from one end to the other and back. At the end of the beach opposite the town is a mini island called black rock. All along the way is sand dunes and a rock pebble strip and great surf. Out... More

The entire Strand was our view and exercise walk twice a day for two days. About a mile/1.6 km crescent beach with beautiful sand and colorful smooth rocks pushed up against the dunes. Incredible views of the Dingle Peninsula. Popular with walkers, dog owners, swimmers and body boarders. Guarded beach even in September.

Very clean and lovely walk with everyone meet lovely local people but we have a dog that we always keep on a lead and bag their little job but as usual a very few people give the rest of us dog owners a bad name by letting their dogs fowl anywhere with a blind eye and let loose on the... More

The simplicity of having very little amenities. Very quiet beach, great for walks and thoughts. Barely anyone there which I think is a great thing. Beautiful.

Not the best beach in Kerry but next best if Ballybunnion beach is too busy during the summer.the town doesn't have much restaurants or activities.

As a young chap I spent my summers with family in Ballyheigue and racked up some fantastic memories, most of which on that beach. From the rocks to the soft sand to the sand dunes I had many an adventure there. I just visited again today for the first time in over 10years and it not lost any of its... More
