We arrived at about 5:00 p.m. for the 5:30 p.m. banquet only to find that the castle was essentially locked down in preparation for the banquet with the only greeting being a sign that said "doors open at 5:15 p.m. Looking about at the relatively...More

This was my least favorite event while in Ireland. I wish my husband and I would have spend the money on something else. It cost us 80 dollars. We thought we were going to an authentic medieval banquet-like where you eat with your hands and...More

So glad we booked this! The food was nice, but what made the evening was the ambience, entertainment and sense of fun. The harp playing was excellent, and our three hosts sung and played, as well as regaling us with poetry and stories. The whole...More

In September 2017 I picked this banquet to attend out of the blue (or as some say "internet") and we enjoy it so much we decided to go back for an encore performance one year later. My hubby enjoys the mead a little too much...More

My wife, 18 year old son and I thoroughly enjoyed this banquet. The food was fine, except the soup was excellent. But it was the entertainment that made it so much fun. I think this is a great activity for any age.

We really really enjoyed our dining experience here.! From the mead as we arrived, to the delicious 4 course dinner, to the after-dinner poetry, singing and entertainment. 10 yr old daughter loved it too, along with learning to play the harp, and being awarded Princess of...More

Showed up to an empty parking lot for the dinner banquet. Walked to entrance and found gate locked and no signs of activity. We have clear and confirmed reservations for October 6, 2018 at 845pm (today!) and nobody is at the castle. No answer from...More

This is the second medieval banquet I've been to in Ireland. The food was excellent and the story telling too. This is a much smaller more intimate banquet compared to Knappogue Castle, but I liked it just the same. Be careful not to miss the...More

Enjoyed this very much. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a smile and a glass of mead by the lady of the castle and waited while being entertained by someone playing medieval songs on the harp. This was very enjoyable until a Tour bus arrived...More

This was my second time to Dunguaire castle for the banquet, but this time I had my family with me. This is very “touristy,” but it is a lot of good fun. The staff/actors were very friendly and everything was executed smoothly regarding the food...More

Wonderful experience with beautiful voices and amazing harpist. Food was delightful but the stories and music made the trip worthwhile. They even presented one of our party with a Claddaugh ring.

It is really whatever you want to wear. I dressed up a bit, in a dress but it was cold and I wore capris under it! Most everyone was very casual!

There is no dress code, at least none I saw posted. Everyone in our tour group had on whatever they started with for the day.

If you have a choice choose Bunratty castle over this one for the medieval banquet experience.
