Worth finding :) great trad music and cheap beer

This was a great bar away from the busy area of Galway. The trad music was wonderful. Live music is offered 2 X a day - well worth spending time at.

We went there because it was recommended by the hotel and TripAdvisor one day in Galway. The music did not start tii about 10 pm so we did not get to listen much as our bus was leaving early the next morning. But it was fun. Although going back we passed by a few other places that had live music... More

We stayed in an AirBNB around the corner and our host recommended we check it out for a trad set. What an amazing night!! 13 musicians crowed around playing and singing whatever came to them. The place was packed but well worth the crowd.

Good craic! Excellent live music. Unlike the tourist focused pubs bars that put on a show, this was a true local bar. An experience that can't be beat. Get there early if you want to sit for the night, though people do go back and forth, so its doable to stand for a bit and eventually find a seat. Music... More

Called in to have Guinness on the walk to the town. Always great music with players and performers coming and going all night. A must when visiting Galway. Get to meet some really great authentic Irish people who are passionate about their heritage, their poetry and their wonderful spontaneous music. I stayed for a week and went there most nights... I saw so many Irish music groups while in Ireland that I lots count. For certain the very best the Crane Bar. The music is played on the second floor in a rather small room that is often quite crowded. I came here two nights. The group the first night was very large with 14 musicians. They were brilliant.
