One of the best in town....

Great pub to have a drink in the evening, food also good during the day. You could sit in here, and enjoy the hours over a few comfortable pints, in the centre of Galway.

On my way home from my Sunday trip to the Aran Island I stop randomly for having a Whisky. After a while and a Guinness I was surrounded by a lot of friendly people, the band began to play and I finally got home a bit later as planned. To put it in a nutshell, a great venue to have... More

On Sunday 28th August my two brothers and I visited Tigh Neachtain. We are an Irish family. The atmosphere was fantastic with a house full of tourists. In discussion with a large group visiting from Australia it came out in conversation that we are a musical family and we were asked to sing an Irish ballad. In order to make... More

It's been 18 years since our last visit, what a joy to return. Great bar, wee booths, great pint. The old posters from the arts festival are great to look at.

We were in Galway visiting briefly. Our son ,who was traveling with us had been a student at UCG(now NUI Galway) some years ago. He was familiar with Neachtain's from his student days. It was very crowded when we arrived on a Thursday evening, but we got a tiny snug to ourselves in the back. This place has an interior with artifacts... More

This is a great old pub free of Televisions and other electronic diversions. Stove and fire place add to a cold winter day. Excellent selection of spirits and well poured pints. A cozy place to hang out on a wet winter day in Galway. Full of local character.

Great bar, great location. You can sit outside and watch the many faces of Galway go by in all their glad raggedy! A oh, and a sublime pint of Guinness too add to the mix.

Quite simply the best pub in Galway! Galway is renowned for having the largest density of pubs per square mile any where in Ireland and this is one of the best, for both tourists and locals, arguably the best in Galway. The crane is arguably better for music, with the quays being a favorites for tourists, but still, overall, best... More

The people we met at Neachtain's made our trip to the west coast of Ireland very memorable. From the older couple that gave us safety tips and tricks on picking up men, to the group of guys in town for a college reunion of sorts, the experience was one full of laughs. We enjoyed Neachtain's for its cozy atmosphere and... More
