About
Irish whiskey is fast becoming one of the most popular spirits across the World. The Irish Whiskey Museum, based in the heart of Dublin City in a historic building on Grafton Street, tells the complete and unbiased history of Irish whiskey and its importance in Ireland’s turbulent past. The Irish Whiskey Museum is independent of all whiskey distilleries, offering its visitors the opportunity to taste and experience a huge selection of Irish Whiskey. Whether it’s Single Grain, Malt, Pot Still or a Blended Whiskey, the Museum’s whiskey experts will always be able to help you find the perfect whiskey to suit your palate. Tours take place from 10am-6pm every day, while visitors can experience a variety of live traditional music, storytelling and events every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening until 10.30pm.

Found the museum while googleing places to visit on my trip. As we travalled with a 16y old, it is nice that they offered a non-drinking ticket option. Ben, out tour guide was awsome. Had a blast!

Of all the sites and tours we did in Dublin, this was the most fun. Ben was our guide and he was fantastic!!! Even our very wild kids how don’t pay attention to anything enjoyed the experience. I of course enjoyed the whiskey at the end and would recommend that if you are in the area to definitely not miss this!

Terrific experience, and great service/drinks all round.
Fantastic cocktails in the bar and the tour was excellent. Though Donal definitely needs to tell more stories from his experiences with alchohol.

There are many alcohol-related experiences in Ireland, including tours of Jameson and Guinness. I chose the Whiskey Museum because they are not affiliated with any brand. The tour guide gave an entertaining history of Irish whiskey by taking us through a series of themed rooms that supported the various facets of whiskey history. Some aspects are quite surprising! You will be entertained.
As with many tours in Ireland, we ended in a pub. There, we were instructed how to taste whiskey, and then tasted four different whiskies. Yum! There is an option to upgrade the tasting to include two additional, premium brand tastes. I had another stop for the day so I decided to hold back on the alcohol.

Can we bring kids to the museum? They are 12 and 16. And can adults do the tour while kids are with us?

Hi. Absolutely. Children’s tickets are 10e. We also have family tickets available for 2 drinking and 2 non drinking. This is applicable to our premium and classic tours. No U18 visitors can join our blending tour.

Do people recommend pre-buying tickets or is walk up okay?

Hi Carlie,
We recommend to pre-book online through our website as during the summer months we can get quite busy and our tours often fill up. However we have tours running every 30 minutes throughout the day until 6pm so there are many tour times available if booking in advance does not suit you.

For some reason it’s only allowing to book one person on June 22nd for the blended whiskey experience. Is that because it’s full, or is that a glitch in your system?

I just went to their site, looked at June 22 for blending experience. There are three times available and I could select multiple visitors for all of them. Try it again. It was a very enjoyable and informative experience - we did premium tasting.
