Established in 1766 this shrine to antiquity is one of Dublin's oldest, most beautiful and best loved pubs, abundant in traditional charm and exuding genuine Victorian originality, the interior dates from 1881. The title The Long Hall is derived from Dublin publore as a consequence of the long narrow hallway snug, that ran parallel to the back bar. The pub is the product of splendid Victorian design symmetry in which the sum of its parts including elaborate gold leaf enhancements, meticulous handcrafted wood carvings, beveled and ornate glass all come together to create one of the iconic and leading lights of 20th century Dublin publife. Over decades, politicians, playwrights and potwallopers have imbibed here side by side. Attentive Bartenders, a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere await you. Renowned for great Guinness. Open Daily from 12.30pm.

we were away with our son and his friend who had just turned 18 , and it was our son's 18 birthday eve, the taxi driver from the airport suggested this pub, for my son to have his first legal drink in. We arrived close to midnight, time we got our drinks my son was 18, so you do have... More

Lovely place to go for a drink. No television, no music, just good old fashioned conversation. Can be very busy but worth a visit.

Super place to go. Highly recommended as a traditional irish pub. Only downside is its always packed. But thats a reflection of its popularity!

Time stands still in this noisy atmospheric bar. Great place for a couple of pints...probably buzzing every weekend but on 6 Nations weekend really, really crowded.more room if they cleared out the guys who had fallen into a Guinness fuelled coma standing upright at the bar. Probably best visited at lunchtime.

A real old Irish bar, a bar that is astounding backed with mirrors and an unbelievable selection of spirits. The Guinness was outstanding too. Well worth a visit to see the decor inside including old gas lights. A friendly and very efficient staff. Will definitely visit again when back in Dublin

We enjoyed our visit in this 250 years old pub very much. Perfect service, cool Guinness and very nice environment. A traditional pub with local customers just away 5 minutes walk from the busy Temple bar area. Definitely recommended for a couple pints of the dark.

Now just over 250 years old ,still probably the best pub in our City Centre. Don't expect anything other than a great pint , good chat and beautiful old surroundings

Please don't go here if you are a loud obnoxious tourist. The Long Hall is an awesome historic bar where you can grab the a delicious pint of Guinness and have a nice chat with friends. The bartenders are not overly friendly but they are respectful and will treat you well. We visited the bar twice during out trip in... More
