In my opinion, James Joyce is the best Irish writer ever. Since his statue is right on O'Connell Street, it would be a shame not to see it. Go get lost in Dublin's literature once more.

In my opinion this is just a rusty statue to James Joyce while it also has a little bit of his history noted on it. Good with the tourists I suppose.

It would be helpful to those of US who do not know what Joyce looked like if they could put a plaque on the bust so we would know who he was.

This statue in the center of Dublin is a life-size bronze the famous novelist. He is shown by sculptor Marjorie Fitzgibbon leaning on his cane. Casually, he has one hand in a pocket as he stands proud though crossed-legged. He appears somewhat arrogant, perhaps conceited, with his nose pointing upward. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful work of art, giving some class... More

It was great to finally match the pictures, the imaginative profile through the writing, and whatever is found on Google with the real statue. We started our walk from nearby and referred to the statue as our meeting point when we returned. We then made our way through the vibrant and buzzy city. Bridges, shops, pubs and the river accompanies... More

James Joyce is one of my heroes. Simply stunning and gifted writer. Simply brilliant. There is a statue of him across the street from The GPO. Worth a moment to pay homage to the man.

As a James Joyce-fan, I had high hopes in finding this statue but I only did so near the ending of our journey, since it is so a shaming lyrics small.
