I think he's standing there thinking, 'what the bloody hell is that spire doing there, what a waste of money. A nice object to enjoy whilst on a walk.

Right in the center of Dublin, near the Spike, you get to stop for a minute and enjoy a photo with James Joyce! A few meters further you have the Christmas tree :) if it's the season ofc

I visited this status with family to introduce younger relatives to a great writer. Sad to see people sitting on a statue as if it was unimportant. Seemed a bit of an ill use of a monument to such a powerful thought provoking writer. Regardless...More

One of three statues all within a 5 minute walk on O'Connell ST. Right next to the GOP, this is a must for statue and literary fans.

I visited this statue dedicated to James Joyce today. It is a fine bronze sculpture and a good monument to someone who made such a contribution to Irish literature

It sits opposite the Dublin Spire so you can't miss it on the crossroads. The base is used as a seat by street thieves (saw someone pocket watching there, no Garda ever about so not surprised). If you're into it go see it, you can...More

I just happened past it and stopped for a quick photo and to read the plaque at the base. If you're a Joyce fan...you'll want to find it and stop by!
