This probaly not a stand alone attraction however combined with the many other sites and attractions of Dublin makes a wonderful day of sightseeing, something we didn't realise at first, this structure is actualy wider than it is long. Probaly a good trivia question.

This bridge comes off of O'Connell Street which is one the main shopping/eating streets. It joins the north of Dublin to the south of Dublin and you'll go over this bridge if you book onto any of the hop on and hop off bus tours.

As I mentioned in one of my reviews, O’Connell Street is one of the main streets. I walked there often and the street crosses O’Connell bridge. What a coincidence of their names matching! It is actually one of the main thoroughfares that connect the city in between the river. It has three obelisk arches constructed in granite that makes it... More

I was walking across this bridge after walking all day when I spotted the custom house on the other bank and found another exhibition to visit.

The major avenue between the north and south sides of Dublin, O'Connell is always crowded with traffic -- vehicular and pedestrian. Very good views of the river as well as the interesting array of buildings on both sides from the center of the span. Great sunset views as well. A bit "edgy" on the Temple Bar side, which is a... Just love the idea that I can now go as far as O'Connell Bridge, go out and sit on the Boardwalk and just watch the activity on the River. This unique Bridge was always a favourite of mine when we went to the City and now I can sit and relax at its waters edge is a joy. It has... More

Our taxi dropped us at this bridge. With many shops and "that"spire at the far end,our initial thoughts were not good.As we crossed this bridge we saw a few odd bods frequenting the area, one asked us for money whilst the other pounced on a couple behind.....we almost waved a taxi down within minutes...we kept walking. On a positive note The O"Connell bridge... Not necessarily spectacular but a nice view of the river. One of many crossings with exposure to some interesting characters. Bridge itself is OK. Worth a stop if in the area but not a bid destination.

Again, even though there are many bridges, this one was unique in design. One could find some unique things along the bridge. We were actually advised to keep walking and not o make eye contact with certain types. Once I got on the bridge I understood why.
