We were invited to take a tour with my school to the Aras recently and really enjoyed this unique experience. The staff were extremely accomodating, answering all of the children's questions and giving us a glimpse into the life of the Irish president.

We went on a random Sunday and were super lucky to get a ticket for the last tour because as we were told they are usually sell out in the morning. A mini bus drove us and a couple of other visitors (possibly 8 in total) and the super nice guide through the big gates and down the the building.... More

On a lovely sunny day we saw the President's Residence at its best aided by an excellent commentary from our guide Bernie. Only open to the public on Saturdays this tour is a must for tourists and Irish residents alike. As well as seeing a beautiful building you get a snapshot of Irish history. This was my third visit and... More

Did the tour on Saturday 28th January. Our guide Bernie was brilliant. We had fairly free access to the ground floor of the Aras which is full of history and interesting pieces of art. The guide was also able to relate the architecture to other places of interest in Ireland. You need to get to the visitors centre early to... More

I always wanted to do this tour but never got around to it, so on Saturday we brought ourselves and the three little ones (7,4,2) along hoping that the kids would enjoy it or at least behave for the duration! I was delighted they obliged and, aside from my 2 year old moving her arm and accidently knocking something off... More

This President's House is located inside Phoenix Park. What surprised me was how little the security seemed to be as from the Phoenix Park, one can see the House. It is white (as the name suggests) but it seems to be of equal in terms of importance as the American ambassador's house which is almost directly opposite.

Recently went on the free Saturday morning tour of the Aras and it was just fantastic. Our tour guide (whose name I have unfortunately forgotten) was incredibly pleasant and knowledgable and was able to answer any questions we had. The highlight of the trip was having the President's dog, Shadow, join us for the tour of the gardens. Every Irish... More

This is a great opportunity to visit the residence of the President of Ireland. The building and setting is beautiful and well worth the visit. The tour is free of charge and is superbly presented, respecting the individual as well as the need for appropriate security etc. Our tour guide Bernie was excellent, knowledgeable and so friendly. The tickets for... More

We got an invitation to one of the President's Tea Parties in June this year. Aras an Uachtarain was built in 1751 and has been home to the Irish President since 1938. I alway wanted to visit and never ever expected to attend a tea party there. I only got to see Michael D O'Higgins but his wife Sabina welcomed... More
