Visited Saturday midday outside peak season ( museum season should be year-round) After spending an hour , left hungry for more ! First impression of former hospital building suggests that you should expect hours of museuming :) You make your mind and body prepared for lots, mean LOTS of art by only judging the size of this building. Entire museum... More

I was fortunate to see Sigur Ros here in June 2016 and had a fantastic night. The event was well organised, facilities very good, not too much waiting or hanging around and great atmosphere. The light show was exceptional and the performance spellbinding. Not necessarily as a result of this location, but I love going to gigs here and I... More

Though I'm not a great fan of modern art, I'd never been to this museum before and was very interested in seeing the grounds. As noted by other reviewers, the collection is rather limited, but the exhibits do change. Read up on the current offerings before you go to decide if this is worth your time. While there, don't be... More

Came here to kill time waiting for my tour at Kilmainham Gaol, and the walk up is quite lovely- the graveyards on either side of the walk are interesting tidbits from the museum's past. Once you get to the main building, there's not a lot to do. Many of the galleries are closed for installations, but the two exhibits to... More

IMMA is a super place to spend a morning or afternoon. In addition to the excellent modern art exhibits, there is a great cafe and beautiful grounds / gardens that are well worth a wander. It's rarely more than pleasantly busy - one of Dublin's best-kept secrets, perhaps!

I walked to the museum and was surprised by the long walk from the gate to the museum. Entry is free and there are ever-changing exhibitions. Some of the galleries I enjoyed others not so much. What I didn't appreciate was a lack of exhibits I expected to see more. I ate in the cafe and the snack was good.... More

If you love modern art and find yourself in Dublin, by all means visit this museum. The collection is a bit limited, but there are some fantastic pieces -- including an absolutely riveting video that I wish I could see again. The two temporary exhibits were engaging, the cafe is better than most museum offerings, and the grounds are just... More

To be honest, this was a discovery and we were not visiting the actual museum, but trying to get to the jail. we walked into the courtyard and our jaws dropped: it was like being in France! We stopped for an impromptu meal just to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Stunning. One of my favourite places in Dublin.
