- Mike BMineral, Virginia1,010 contributionsAwesome GreenspaceDuring a 2 week tour of Ireland, we spent the first 2 days in Dublin, and had an opportunity to spend a little time each day in St Stephens Green. It's an awesome green space, that's very enjoyable to walk through and around. We even bought take out one day and had a little lunch in the green. If you're staying south of the river, you're bound to walk through it at some point. Take your time and enjoy it. We went in September, and all the flowers were in full bloom. Very pretty place.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 September 2023
- CTMansRidgefield, Connecticut1,457 contributionsLovelyVisited St Stephens Green while on holiday at a hotel nearby. Very well manicured. The center of the park truly separates one from the hustle and bustle of the city. Entrance to Grafton Street shopping district is at one corner of the Green.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 September 2023
- kimmblin155 contributionsA must-see park in a big city!As we approached St. Stephens Green park from the SouthWest corner and we're greeted by large gates of the entrance of the park which gave it a "Disneyland like" quality. In August there were plenty of flowers, wildflowers, and everything was so lush. This park is fairly large and has plenty of paths to choose your route. There are large ponds, lots of ducks, seagulls, and other birds, a couple swans, and mag-pies. There were a lot of people walking around when we went in the late morning but it never felt too crowded and we managed to find a park bench to sit at while we picked our lunch spot for the day. Foley's was nearby and a great choice for lunch or dinner. I would definitely recommend taking the time to stop make your way over to this side of town even if you only have a few hours. While leaving St. Stephens Green park, you can easily walk over to Dublin's major shopping area, Grafton St.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 October 2023

April 1916 and the Irish uprising led by Among others, Hames Connolly. Although not successful in 1916, it certainly led the way for 1922Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 4 October 2023
- urbanguyRichmond, Virginia5,008 contributionsA Huge Urban ParkAt 22 acres, it's the largest park in Dublin. We strolled through it a couple of times and still "missed" some of its features. At the north side, there is a sizeable lake, loaded with waterfowl. Lots of green space, too. Not to be missed, for sure, is the Famine Memorial. An extraordinary monument/sculpture. A great place to people-watch.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 October 2023
- KarenM1_101,043 contributionsLovely green areaThis is a very nice park that is a nice peaceful retreat when you need a break from all the busy touristy areas. There are many statues and memorials located in the park. Plenty of seating and many nice walking paths as well.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 October 2023
- Susana GPortugal11 contributionsVery very green! It's very beautiful. Has a lot of information available in case you'd like to read about the city and it's history. This place also marks an important spot on the Dublin we have today. The "soundguide" is not a guide at all, just music on loop. So don't count on it as a tool to learn or guide you. But still a sweet gift to those visiting!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 October 2023
- Jeni R24 contributionsStephen’s Green and beautyStephen’s Green is historic in nature and you can walk the outside circle path and read about it. As you find you way through the beautiful clean park you enjoy nature and picnics, flowers and sculptures. This park is a great way to get your bearing when visiting dublin and you are close to St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Enjoy a bench, a book and a nosh.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 24 October 2023
- Ian BBBellevue, Washington20 contributionsWonderful place to wander and see swansA pretty park with lots of wildlife. Great for sitting and watching ducks and swans and people! There seems to be 2 pairs of majestic swans living in the park and it was fun to watch others feeding them. Me and my wife came here twice on weekends during our stay. It was a bit crowded with a lot of happy energetic children which was fun. The artwork around the edges was a bit odd... but we're not Irish ¯_(ツ)_/¯Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 October 2023

It’s a nice little oasis in the bustling city. We visited the park a couple more times during our stay and loved it.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 11 November 2023

My husband and I are a travelling couple and we were in Dublin on this holiday. We booked a guide from the agency "Travel Plans” for our 3 days and 2 nights stay months before our arrival. Our tour guide, Shannen, was polite, considerate, kind, and smiling. She brought us a lot of happiness during our stay. We stayed in the Jacob Inn in Dublin, which is more expensive than the Riven Bend in Connemara where for two nights we would have paid 170 euros, here we paid 113 euros for one night. During the day we hesitated between going to St Stephen's Green or Connemara National Park. We chose the beautiful St Stephen's Green park in the heart of Dublin city where we went for a romantic walk. In the evening we ate in the vintage kitcher, this is a restaurant that Shannen recommended to us and we paid only 23 euros per person. We stayed again in our charming hotel "jacob inn" and the next day we visited the little museum of dublin and had a snack at chapter one which is a 2021 star restaurant. We would like to thank Shannen and her agency again for making our stay so enjoyable . Thanks to her, we managed to get around the city by bus without any problems and for only 2 euros per person.
We loved this little stay, Dublin is not the lest expensive city but my husband and I highly recommend Dublin and not any other city in Ireland because you will not have time to be bored, it is a busy and relaxed world and it is the capital of Ireland. You can relax as well as visit, it's a multi-faceted city! We saw things we don't see in France, we discovered a new culture, a new language. My husband and I came back with a lot of memories. It is the most interesting city I have ever seen. Go there, it's great!

After walking everywhere in Dublin, my sister and I took a leisurely stroll through St Stephen’s Green on our way back to our hotel on the other side of the River Liffey. We meandered through this beautiful park, where graceful swans and black and white ducks dot the waterscape. There are famous statues, fountains and beautiful greenery in every direction. Walking through the park slows down the bustling city for a bit, highly recommend it.

Such a gorgeous park just off the main shopping area. Beautiful greenery and plants flourishing all year round. Water features are all well maintained. There are often art displays to be seen or live music ranging from steel bands to visiting foreign bands. The wildlife is great, plenty of birds to be seen not just ducks and pidgins. The park is busy all year round with lots of people from local offices eating their lunch here. There is a lovely kids play area and plenty of room to kick a ball around or paths to wander down. There is plenty of seating scattered around but in the summer a blanket on the grass is just perfect.

St Stephens Green is a wonderful collection of nature, art, and people. Regardless of the weather, there are people wandering around and enjoying the sculptures, waterfall, green areas, and kids play area. It is right in the centre of town, so an easy walk to restaurants and bars. Enjoy!

This pretty park located in Dublin city centre is a charming green space which seems to attract an assortment of local wildlife that can be seen in amongst the flower beds & in the trees.
Obviously the scene of a battle during the Easter Rising there are information boards stationed around which tell you what happened during this time.
While we visited the grounds were just showing the signs of spring as some of the flowers were just starting to appear & work was being carried out to plant up formal flower beds which I imagine will look amazing when the bloom later in the year. Definitely a place to sit and contemplate things especially if the sun is shining.

Since Dublin doesn't have so many green surfaces, this big park practically in the city centre is a welcome break from all the brick and concrete. We were there in December and January, so it wasn't as green, but it's still a beautiful park to stroll around or sit and rest for a while. You can see all sorts of birds around the long pond, there a re statues and monuments, a playground for kids. Even if you don't make it a must see stop, just walk through the park on your way to somewhere else.

Our mini Central Park in Dublin City and it is similar in many ways except, no road runs through our St Stephens Green. It is an Oasis of peace and tranquility in a normally busy city.
Our best know 5 Star Hotel, the Shelbourne Hotels faces the park just as The Plaza faces Central Park Manhattan. It’s popular with city workers, students, tourists, families and just married couple for photos with the lovely backdrop of our famous city park.

My wife and I walked around this park on a sunny January day. It felt like it was hidden away as we stumbled across it. It has a lake in the middle which had swans on it... several pagodas where I imagine in the summer, they'll be filled with entertainers.
The grounds were well kept; no litter at all. Felt like it was a safe park to hang out.

Anyone who plan for a visit in Dublin city must visit St Stephens Green Park which is located in city centre. Not only because of the greenery and it's beautiful landscape you could witness the livelihood of people who are rushing for work or back home, students, lovely couple's, kids playing around, tourist's and a lot. I must say how the mother nature is being treated by its own warmth, you would visit and understand your own. This Green Park is just beside Grafton street which is an another attraction, having a street market which connects to city centre. There you will find the Irish specialities in shopping. It's a large park with many exit or entrance pointing towards multiple areas of city. I witnessed a pleasant evening and a beautiful morning, both having different fragrance of life experience especially, the birds and squirrels playing around. Mindfulness of Happy in return.

This is such a nice area. I love that it is nestled right in the heart of the city, but also has the ability to make you feel like you are several miles away. Personally, I love seabirds and their calls, and you will definitely get that here. An evening stroll in the green was what kept my spirits up.

I'm sorry I do not understand your question

Really Karl ,
yes there are homeless people all over our city and mostly they do not bother people in parks or elsewhere . More to our shame we are not bothered by their predicament ....... As for what goes on in bushes I have not notice this but am aware that the drug use problem which is all around our City is no longer evident in the Green thanks to the works of several bodies.

We've purchased tickets for the 2016-17 New year's concert (with Stepping on Cars) at St. Stephens Green, and I am wondering about the weather and libations. When we fly from the US to Dublin, should we bring a tarp to sit on at the concert, blankets to cover us, flashlights, and a collapsible cooler to be filled with beer? Any help would be so helpful. Just don't know where to go to ask these questions.
Written 8 October 2016
We would most likely have a chilly, wet day. So you must bring the gear for such weather.

Hi, is it possible to get a camp bed put in the main bedroom for my young daughter as she doesn't like sleeping on her own in another room when we're on holidays.
Thank you.

Hi there;
I think you are joking, re-read your question and ask yourself.
Written 16 August 2015
There are 3900 reviews. Why can I only view 10 at a time? Why not let me scroll down to August, instead of one page at a time? Also, why can't I filter them so that I only see messages by visitors from the U.S., or just families? Why do you force me to read all 3900 reviews to find the info I want?
Written 22 January 2015
That's a very good question. "Most recent" does not equate to "most relevant". If I were planning to visit St. Stephen's Green (or Dublin in general) in August, I would want to see reviews and impressions of August events, August conditions, August prices, etc. As you say, it's also useful to see what people from a particular country or region think about their experiences; it helps a reader form judgments. I hope TripAdvisor considers adding ways to sort reviews more deliberately.
