Best in class experience to find out about your Irish Family History
Dec. 2019
The Irish Family History Centre is a must visit place for those interested in finding out about their Irish Family Heritage. One can research themselves on the in-house facilities or get advice and coaching from the Staff. The staff at the Centre are excellent at what they do, well connected and are most friendly, professional and engaging. We found them genuinely interested to help us and in fact went above and beyond to help us track down information about my Irish Grandmother. We could not have done this on our own. I have to single out and thank Dr Patrick Roycroft for the interest and support he gave us. Going to the Centre proved to be a wonderful experience and I urge anyone with an interest in knowing about their Irish past to make enough time for a visit.

Helpful and Interesting half-hour session
Mar. 2020
We (me and my adult daughter) visited EPIC and scheduled time with Patrick to get some ideas & suggestions on several families in County Kerry. Luckily, we have an uncommon name that might lead somewhere. I have been on this family trail for over 20 years & every clue seems to open a new trail leading nowhere. Patrick confirmed some of the theories and offered new ideas. We were going to Kerry after our visit and hoped to return to the Centre before we headed home but the Pandemic got in the way. I have not been able to use the online resource (1-month free access) which would be helpful. We were able to visit Scartaglen in Kerry where my one ancestor was born.

Excellent experience!!
Oct. 2019
My friend has been working on his family history for over 20 years but was stuck a bit on tracing his Irish heritage so we booked an hour consultation with one of the genealogists at the Irish Family History Centre. While we were wondering exactly how much information they would be able to provide, we were happily surprised with the results. He brought along the info he has gathered over the years and the genealogist was able to find more info such as birth records, marriage records and was able to provide him more places to look on his search. Highly recommend this experience but make sure you do your homework ahead of time.

Dear swtraveler15 Thank you for reviewing us and we are delighted that your consultation was fruitful and yes it does make a great difference if some homework is done ahead of time. Good luck to your friend in his continued research

Spent an hour with one of their genealogists investigating my family history. Also across from a reproduction of one of the emigration ships from the 1840-50 period.

Family History Center!
Jul. 2019
We went to EPIC and ended up spending 3 hours in the Family History Center trying to locate one of our relatives! I have to rave about the staff there! They were well versed in attempting to locate family from the 1800's and had suggestions that proved very successful for our journey! Pubs seem to be the way to go for us - family history and stories of those that left Ireland, while not well documented in some cases, their relatives are happy to share!

If you are looking for family - this is truly a great place to start!

Need more than a name or year
Aug. 2019 • Couples
As the staff warned us, for the staff to assist you for family history you need some specific information such as birthdate of family member , marriage date or date if death if they passed in Ireland. We had family names and date they arrived in Ellis Island but that wasn’t quite enough. The staff is very attentive and willing to help . The best , by far, part of the combo ticket is the EPIC museum which is amazing

We paid to sit with a immigration person. It was a little extra and not really worth it since all they do is take you to a computer and sit you in front of Ancestry.com. The museum was very cool and interactive.

Dear AaronMarie it seems that it was a standard ticket or combination ticket you bought which includes access to not only ancestry but findmypast, familysearch and a number of other databases. We do have private consultations available including online if you would like great assistance

Combo Ticket with EPIC
Jun. 2019 • Friends
We did the combo ticket for this and the EPIC Emigration Museum and wow was it worth it! The History Center only stays open until 5:00, but as long as you get into EPIC by 5:00 you can stay in there until 6:45. So, if you go in the afternoon, do this first, and if you go in the morning, do this after lunch. The center is in the gift shop of the Museum, and the Museum is in a mall-style area with lots of options for lunch. The family centre attendants are really helpful and enjoy tracking a mystery. Plus your ticket gets you access to their records for a month after your visit. Totally worth it if you want to trace your heritage!
