The castle is situated on the bank of the river Lee and played important role long time ago. it is a great view on the river from the castle. The observatory is in the castle. It definitely must be seen if you visit Cork.

Very scenic surroundings. Ideal for jogging/ dog-walking/ romantic strolls on a nice day. If you enter the exhibition, an experienced guide will explain to you the patterns of the stars/ planet.

The guide who takes you round is very knowledgeable with a passionate interest in astronomy.The planetarium show is included in the admission and should not be missed.
