This is a family owned operation and they treat it like so as their ohana (family, several generations) all participate. And they treat you like ohana, the Aloha spirit personified. One of the third generation sons, Kamika Smith was our greeter, announcer, singer, etc., I...More

Luau was great..food was delicious...gardens wonderful. The singers and dancers were talented and dedicated to entertain although it rained the last few minutes of the show. Spectators were under cover and did not get wet. I recommend this activity highly.

Yes, it is schmaltzy and kitchy, but it very fun. The hosts do a great job of making everyone feel welcome, the grounds are immaculate and well manicured, and it is very well organized. The food is as good as it can be for feeding...More

I'm a local resident of Kauai. I lived on this island for 25 years and I never attended a luau dinner on Kauai. I always thought that these dining events were for the dumb tourists to experience a traditional Hawaiian Party. So, I stayed away...More

The Luau was ok. Food was very good. The "show" wasn't what I was expecting. Seemed more like a High School musical. Very disappointed that the woman got shell lei's instead of flower lei's like the website stated. We would have bought one on the...More

For the best traditional family luau in Kauai, the Smith's Tropical Paradise Luau is it. Zoological and botanical tour, tremendous luau buffet and a Polynesian review is wonderful. If you want a glitzy modern show, this is not for you. But if you want an...More

Had a nice time at this luau. Food was decent for buffet style. Excellent folk dancing from island cultures. This luau is a bit pricey. But they don't cut corners on the food or service. Garden is nice to walk pre-show so go early.

We visited this luau 23 years ago, a bit after Iniki. We had a wonderful time then and we had a great time last night. Suffice it to say, the crowds have increased since then. The food was outstanding though as well as the open...More

We had read everywhere that this is the best luau on Kauai. Well, we went to one at the Hilton on waikikiwhile the food was significantly better at Smith's, the show was a little tame. We still enjoyed it, but I think they need to...More

It is a special discounted rate for Hawaiian locals. I've checked the Smith's website and it doesn't look like they offer any discounts. The only discount is to order online. I believe you save $10 by doing this... More
