Well worth a visit for lunch
Excellent venue - the food is brilliant and offers superb value for money. The venue feels very authentic, with limited tables. We tried the mackerel, oysters, lobster and scampi. All were great and well worth trying. It’s not premium dining, and the price you pay reflects this.

    Amazing seafood
Awesome seafood lunch on our way from Fairy Pool to Talisker Distillery. Everything here was super fresh and yummy at a reasonable price. We love the 1/2 lobster, king prawns, crab claws & the fresh oysters. Only downside is the scallops are very small.

    Worth a visit!
People leaving reviews do need to read the information that The Oyster Shed provide about it being basic. What you see is a big shed and some barrels and limited seating outside under a lean-to, to eat, or eat in your car. I had the freshest oysters which were great and at £1.20 each, compared to my local pub at £3, and eaten looking at a great view, I thought they were great value and tasted lovely. Our half lobster with garlic butter were small and had lots of eggs and usually these little ones would be thrown back. They weren’t grilled through completely and a bit cold but we liked the vibe and it’s a great concept. Hats off to the young folk running this place. Worth a visit for oysters definitely.

    Amazing seafood that's dog friendly
It was such amazing food we went an hour outlet of our way the next day to have lunch again! Amazing place and pretty amazing views as well. The main area and seating/standing area is dog friendly which was amazing. The price for the hot food is so reasonable for what you get!

    Delicious and rustic!
We were on a 1pm tour of Talisker and came here just before the tour for lunch. It is located a minute from Talisker. Rustic and original with a limited menu. Most opt for oysters but we had the scallops with a serve of chips. The scallops were large, plump and tasty. The chips skinny, crunchy and delicious! No alcohol or toilets here. Great view. Limited seats but lots of barrels to stand by. Bhighly recommended. Total cost for 2 x serves of scallops (5 per serve) and 1 x chips around £28. Excellent value!

    Delicious Fresh Seafood on Skye
Delicious, fresh, melt in your mouth good seafood. My husband and I just visited and had the scallops, langoustines, and mussels -- oh my goodness was it good. If you really want mussels or other likely to sell out items we'd recommend you go earlier in the day to ensure you get it - everyone knows how good this place is and food goes fast!

    Great find!
We could smell the food as we drove up the road to find the restaurant. We ordered lobster, dressed crab, and prawns and all were delicious! Our 5 yr old even loved it. Great value, too!

No frills delicious seafood and oysters
No frills fresh seafood and shellfish. Nowhere in the UK have we ever paid only £12 for 12 Oysters. This place is wonderfully authentic, not overpriced and serves great fresh food for amazing value. Don’t go if you’re pushed for time as service can be slow but only because they shuck the oysters in front of you

    Amazing Oysters and Views
Off the beaten path but amazing food and views. The oysters were excellent both fried and raw. Crab sandwich was delicious. The kids meal was great for our little ones and the views from the outdoor area a perfect backdrop

Great place really good value great view
Great place but very Busy. Food was superb. We tried all options between 6 of us and loved all of it. Its actually really good value too. The carpark is tiny so limits how many can be in the shed at a time. The view is fantastic. If you are not confident at parking don't go.

No frills posh fish & chips and it’s very best! This is what it’s all about fish & chips with stunning views.

Love this place, we have been many times and it never disappoints, scallops, lobster, king prawns, oysters you name it 👌🏻

Off the beaten track - no thrills……other than the food which is off the scale!
My wife and I shared lobster & prawns in garlic butter.
I had half a dozen oysters.

Everything is fresh and cooked to order.

Great value

A must-do. Next to no parking but … the oysters! So salty and fresh. There’s other seafood available, but … Funny, we were driving up the single-track hill (be prepared to back down a good ways if a vehicle has cleared the "intersection” ahead, because there’s no passing place to back into) and wondered why more than a few folks were walking. Make it up there, nose the car into the lot, and you immediately see why. Worth it no matter how you travel. The scenery’s not bad, either. Bonus: Get back down the hill and wash it all down with a dram at Talisker's Campfire Bar.

So glad we were tipped off about this place in advance of our first ever trip to Syke. Their crab claws were just about the best seafood we’ve tasted. We went back for seconds!! The lobster was sweet and juicy and the lobster soup simply heavenly. And the fries under the seafood all bathed in garlic butter, yes please. Can see why this place is so popular. We loved it!

The best meal on a 3 week holiday. Seafood everywhere, butter everywhere, eating while standing overlooking pure natural beauty. This place rocks!

Amazing place, be prepared to walk if the car park is full and wait as it is extremely busy and cooked fresh to order
Great choice of seafood and although the frier was out of action temporarily we had a few scallops and fries which were delicious and MASSIVE!
There is a shelter to stand in and eat (gets a bit waspy and full of dogs tho) and a shop to buy food and gifts to take home. We bought oak hot smoked salmon for supper which was delicious

Do respect the Highway Code and park safely ….lots of nutters abandoning cars on bends and in passing places….which led to pandemonium.

There are lots of barrels they use as tables to eat at. Don’t expect to sit, but the sea food you receive is incredible. It is located near Talisker Distillery. We had crab soup, king prawns were served with chips and fresh oysters and it was amazing.
