Isolation and beauty

Amazingly beautiful bay. We walked along the beach enjoying the solitude, peace and incredible scenery. A special place to see.

My children and I visited on a cold, but bright, day during October half term and we had the beautiful white sandy beach to ourselves. The was a small car park at one end with a tiny cafe/ice cream shop that looked as though it had closed for the winter. I imagine it gets very busy at peak times, but... More

I went here as a last minute after thought ans am so pleased I did. Beautiful sand and machair, a wonderful sunset. It was late in the season, but there seemed to be a small shop near the beach.

It was an honour to visit Calgary bay on Canadian Thanksgiving, very fitting for us since we lived in the great city of Calgary (Canada) for many years. The bay is just beautiful and I can see why Col MacLeod fell in love with it all those years ago. The weather was brilliantly sunny and warm the day we were... More

Gorgeous beach, brilliant white sands almost looks tropical in the right weather. Car park is a fair size, can get busy though so we have parked on the other side of the bay where there is a small toilet block too. Never been to the little boat cafe/ stall yet but want too. Can recommend, it is a lovely beach... More

Basalt cliffs , sea eagles, white sand, what's not to like. This is a must destination. Good cafe just north of bay. Great walks. You need to be there.

It's a bit of a trek down some single track roads but well worth the effort, there is a small car park which can get busy at times but we had had no problems on our visit. The beach is fairly wide and lovely and white sands, it is exposed so dress for all seasons but with the right weather... More
