Followed a hunch to The Crofter's Kitchen at Kintra for coffee and cake. Signed from the main road, follow the road/track to a little piece of quiet and solitude with lovely homemade cake. Sat out in the sunshine listening to bird song. Heavenly

We spent a great week at Fidden Farm campsite on the Isle of Mull. It is a large grassy/rocky area right on the edge of a rocky /sandy beach. It is a wee walk to the spotlessly clean toilet and showers. It is a working sheep farm so expect sheep to be outside your caravan or tent when you get... More

The diving round here is world-class. You do need to be entirely self-sufficient, though. Lots of research of charts will identify good prospects. Otherwise you will find only kelp and muddy slopes. Locals are tremendously friendly & supportive of visitors and facilities (food, drink, basic transport) are good. You do need your own boat, compressor, first aid etc, with in-practice... More

Well worth visiting for the scenery, people, wildlife and access to Iona. Eating options available in both Bunessan and Fionnphort. Suggest booking accommodation in advance as the area can become busy.

The south coast of Mull has to be the best coastline on Mull, the beaches are just stunning and if you buy an ordnance survey map you can explore the many inlets, nooks and cranny's If your interested in Ross's history then there is a Heritage centre at Bunnessan just as you enter the village on your right, they have... Walked local routes over the three days we were staying at Fionnphort Can be very boggy in places so detours are needed. Not well marked but this led to some fun!

Spend time in the Ross of Mull rather than driving through it en route to Iona and Staffa. Glorious little beaches with no one there. Bird life, flora and fauna.......a little bit of paradise on earth.

If you enjoy deserted beaches, wild landscapes and watching the stars at night, this is the place for you. People tend to 'pass through' on the way to Iona - which is well worth a visit - and they miss the beauty and tranquillity of the Ross. Part of me hopes that this continues as it leaves those of us... More

Better beaches than Skye, wilder, more beautiful, less populated and built upon.I love Mull. And it also hosts one of Scotland's officially designated 'outstanding landscapes' around Loch na Keal. With tiny but stunning Iona just offshore and world-renowned Fingal's Cave a boat trip away, Mull draws us back more and more. Add the fact that it is wildlife central with sea eagles,... More
