Atmospheric drive with car parks along the route to stop off and either walk or take in the views. Lots of colourful trees. Well off the beaten track, easy to make a day with picnic

We cycled through here after a stay in Aberfoyle with cycle cross bikes. The forest is beautiful and the tracks are good. There are some points of interest built in the keep kids (and adults) amused.

We camped one night. Remote, quiet, fantastic. The Ranger was very friendly and helpful with ideas for a walk the next day. Amazing scenery at every turn. Our camp was above Loch Drunkie with splendid view down the valley. It had a picnic table and...More

Yes fishing is permitted with a permit obtainable at the forest park visitor centre. Not sure about the camping an email to cowaltrossachs@forestry.gsi.gov.uk might help.
