Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Kinnoull Hill was one of the highlights of my trip to Scotland - the views from the top were incredible. I was lucky enough to see a rainbow while I was at the top which made the view even better 🤩
It was quite a steep walk up through the woods (which was trickier going downhill) but there were some benches once you get to the very top which make a nice spot for a picnic lunch.

This view is absolutely breathtaking. Sometimes it's easy to read reviews and look at the pictures and think eh, maybe it's not worth it, but it is. Scotland has some incredibly dramatic landscapes and everywhere you look, you feel like you've just stepped into a painting of some sort. The summit of this hill is absolutely no exception. The trail is well marked (kind of) and it's a relatively easy, if long, climb. From the car park to the top, it's about 2km.
Speaking of rain, be sure to bring an umbrella with you on the trail. It may start to rain and that makes the land look even more magnificent. You may be able to simply wait out the passing cloud (if you're lucky) and experience the breathtaking view all over again. This trail is so worth it.

Lovely walk from the car park uphill through the path. Quite long, sometimes a little steep but the view from the top is awesome. We walked all around the circular path for a couple of hours, seeing the wooden and iron handmade animals in the wood and along the way. Very enjoyable!!!

We walked down into Perth firstly and then made the walk back to the top which doubled the climb but well worth the effort with superb views over the City and Tay river. We followed the longer 'blue' route which was well signed and well determined path. There are some steeper climbs on this route, but enjoyable through the woodland, with occasional wildlife to spot by way of red squirrels and birdlife. Great facility right on the doorstep of Perth.

Visited on New Year’s Eve with out 2 dogs. Spectacular views from the top...well worth the uphill climb. There are tree trunks which have been carved into shapes such as a fairy house and animals. We spotted an owl, badger and raven. Lots of birds to see, too, including robins, great tits, blue tits and even a pair of jays squabbling. On the return leg, we also walked down to Burnmill to extend the walk. Fantastic views over Perth from that part of the walk, too.

Walked 10.5km from Murrayshall hotel into Perth city centre via Obilesk and Kinnoull Hill. Great hill and forest walk with stunning views over the Tay and Perth. Only negative is some paths in the forest are not signposted so the fun of getting lost in nature.

Kinnoull Hill is easily accessible via car, with a nice walk through woodland to the summit. It's a bit steep in places but always good underfoot. Excellent views from the summit over the A90 towards Perth and Fife.

A steep climb up, mainly because we didn't stick to the main path, led to amazing views between the mist across to Perth an the River Tay to the South. Interesting information board told you what you probably would see on a clear day. Once we headed down on teh main path, we realised it wouldn't have been such an arduous climb

Having driven by the tower on the cliffs 1000s of times on my way up and down the A90, it was a delight to get to visit it today. It’s a fairly steep climb to the top and you’d do well to heed the warnings about the open cliff tops. Take care of yourself and your kids and animals. You will enjoy spectacular views of Perthshire/Tayside. Today was beautiful day with snow capped mountains in every direction. I got some great pictures. It was very slippy underfoot and I had to be extra careful near the edges. There are no facilities save a few bench’s here and there.

Really enjoyed this walk. My accommodation just happened to be off the road that leads up to the park, so it was just a very self explanatory, uphill walk. The view from the top was very beautiful. Not a difficult walk but if you don’t like steep hills I wouldn’t recommend it. Thought the prize view from the top was well worth the climb though. It was a lovely, clear, summery day. Would definitely come back next time we’re in the area.

is kinnoull hill suitable for a wheel chair

I have gone up this hill from various directions, starting from Perth town centre, but also from the car parks which take you a lot nearer to the top. However I can't see that any of the paths would be smooth enough for a wheelchair, I'm afraid.

Are any of the trials up to the tower suitable for prams?

Can anyone tell me whereabouts should park or start the walk from for the shortest way to the top (have a 3&4 year old so will probably take us twice as long)! Thanks😊

Follow road that takes you up through housing and once you get out into open countryside there is a car park on the right hand side with a steepish path past a couple of picnic tables. It is the first car park you see if you follow the signs to Kinnoull Hill. I believe it is shorter than the path that goes up from the vicinity of Branklyn Garden but you could check on a map. Can I just add that with your youngsters you need to be extremely careful at the top near the folly as there is a very high sheer cliff that the path runs parallel to and there are no barriers. I have 9 year old and I insisted on holding his hand!!

Sorry--I wouldn't begin to know about bus routes to Kinnoull Hill. Suggest Googling that. I found a local municipal bus schedule, which I tried to post for you, but URLs are not allowed in these posts.
