What an unexpected (pleasant) surprise. The Fair Maid's House is an excellent little diversion in the heart of Perth. We enjoyed our visit there (about an hour and a half) and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in geography, maps or our planet.

Visited here with our 10 year old grandson, lots of things to see. Made feel particularly welcome by a guide who showed us around upstairs personally. Really worth a visit.

This small museum is in Perth's oldest house and whether you are interested in history, geography, geology, maps or exploration generally, there is something for you. Its only open during the summer in the afternoons from Tuesday to Saturday, check if is open before you travel a distance. Helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Saw this house mentioned in the museum and decided to seek it out. Well worth the effort, the house has been lovingly restored and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.

We actually meant to visit the house last time we were in Perth but did nit manage it. We went on the Friday unfortunately it was stilled closed, so we went on the Saturday. It is a small house with character and there was a display of excellent photographs of Pskov the Russian twin city of Perth. However going up... More

When you see the date carved into the wall of this house you feel privileged to be able to stand beside it and touch the walls that have stood here for so long. It's nice that the road outside is cobbled, but that doesn't make up for the shame that this historic part of Perth's history is surrounded by ugly,... More

This only opens in the afternoon but is free. There,'s not much to see of the 1475 house when you're in, but there's an incredible store of Geographical information. Maybe the lack of visitors made the volunteer guide too loquacious but, left to one's own devices, a geographer could enjoy him/herself. And they have a complete collection of Lonely Planet... More

When I visited the place was closed but I was happy to see this building from the outside. The street outside has been left cobbled as it would have been years ago. This being the oldest building in town made it a must for me to see and I enjoyed it.
