When James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail announced the opening of their 'centrical and commodious premises' on South Street,Elgin, on 24th May 1895 they would be proud to see it still trading today. When you visit the shop you will be greeted with the aroma of home cooked local gammon, the largest selection of the finest cheeses available in North East Scotland and shelves packed with a fantastic array of high quality grocery products. No visit to the Gordon & MacPhail store would be complete without a visit to the Whisky Room. Stocking around 800 different single malt whiskies, the Whisky Room attracts customers from throughout the world to its crowded shelves. Browsing through the wide selection of whiskies, many of which are very old and extremely rare, you have entered the Aladdin’s Cave of whisky.

Sorry guys I'm biased!!! But from a single malt whiskey perspective there's probably no better place in Scotland to lose yourself for an hour or two. The range and styles on show and available to buy is exceptional and there is a bottle (or three)...More

Me and my friend visited Gordon and MacPhail again, nice to see the new Coinnoisseurs Choice range has found its way. We had the pleasure to taste some of them, because tasting is believing. It wasn't my last visit, that's for sure!

Great selection of whisky and other spirits (try the Elgin). Tasting is possible as well. In addition to drinks you get some other specialties as well.

A well stocked whisky and other spirit shop which is overpriced. The deli is great and has a good selection most of the staff at the deli are polite and pleasant apart from one who seems very abrupt if you are ordering anything.
